Haileybury is a school of strong values. Some of these are traditional and some are more contemporary. The traditional values include academic excellence,leadership and development of the complete person. We have an unrivalled record of outstanding VCE results over many years, with most students placed in the top 20 percent of Victoria, half in the top 10 percent, and a very large number placed in the top 1 percent.

Leadership is encouraged through a broad range of opportunities and a personal development program. Students participate in a full and diverse program that includes sport, the arts, outdoor and community activities, and academic extension.

The more contemporary values deliver optimal educational outcomes for each individual student. The strong and diverse academic program reflects best practice for each stage of schooling. The program highlights that learning is essentially an individual matter, and therefore looks to the talents, interests and needs of each student, and seeks to provide learning that will best suit that individual. Class sizes are small to an extent unsurpassed at any comparable school. There is great diversity of opportunity so that student-centred learning can be provided for all. The dual structure looks at the academic development of the student and his or her personal welfare.
